EDHEC Open Innovation Challenge 2018
Design Thinking & Digital Solution
The EDHEC Open Innovation Challenge is an annual, high-stakes competition partnering student teams with major global corporations to solve complex, real-world business problems. The challenge requires a deep application of strategic design thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and rapid prototyping to deliver viable solutions.
Our cross-disciplinary team was selected to address the problem statement presented by Volkswagen, focusing on their after-sales service division. The core challenge was to develop an innovative strategy and digital solution to increase after-sales service engagement for out-of-warranty vehicles in a highly competitive market.
As the lead for the Mobile Prototyping and Technical Strategy track, I spearheaded the technical and functional design. Our final deliverable included a comprehensive business strategy and a fully functional, clickable mobile application prototype designed to streamline the customer journey and maximize repeat service revenue.
The team successfully advanced through all stages of the competition, presenting the final solution to a panel of Volkswagen executives and EDHEC faculty This result highlights an ability to translate complex corporate problems into practical, user-centric, and digitally-enabled solutions under pressure. We were recognized as Finalists of the 2018 Open Innovation Challenge.
